Twelve SGFA members are exhibiting drawings and paintings made on location in and around London’s historic Southwark Cathedral. The exhibitors came from as far afield as Nottingham and Lincolnshire last year to draw the historic Cathedral and the Borough Market next door. Selected artworks from that day are on show in the Drawing on Location exhibition.

About the Cathedral

Southwark Cathedral is situated across the street from London Bridge Tube station, next door to Borough Market and ten minutes’ walk from Tate Modern. The church stands “at the oldest crossing point of the tidal Thames…not only a place of worship but also of hospitality to every kind of person: princes and paupers, prelates and prostitutes, poets, playwrights, prisoners and patients have all found refuge here.”
