Biography:
An illustrator for 25 years working in publishing and advertising, but also painting and exhibiting watercolours, I am now a full–time painter of mostly landscape subjects.
I became a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour in 2010. I am inspired by the rugged landscapes of Cornwall and Scotland, architecture, atmospheric weather, and seasonal changes of colour. I am keen to capture light and mood in the landscape.
I like a mixed-media technique, using a combination of watercolour, ink, acrylic and pastel, and utilising a wide variety of tools — pen, brush, stick, card, roller, sponge and fingers — to create marks.
