On a winter visit to Lyme Regis the atmospheric scene I found filled me with inspiration. I watched the moving silhouetted figures & their long shadows as families enjoyed the sunlit evening. Tiny figures walked along the cob, beyond. It was all so uplifting & a chance to collect plenty of images on my camera – perfect material to work with back in the studio where I juggled figures and did further sketches to arrive at the composition you see here.
