The Yellow Field
Every May Day since the early 1980’s I have tried to capture the stunning yellow rapeseed fields as they appear in our countryside every spring from direct observation.
Last year was an extra challenge  due to lockdown but I was still able to put this image to memory  on one of my daily walks around the outskirts of the town where I live.
I would normally  spend several  hours on location with a full complement  of art materials  but this picture was produced entirely  in the studio from memory, imagination and a very inadequate phone camera photograph.
