I made this drawing about Woodstock because I wanted to commemorate the 50th anniversary
of the 3 day music festival that was the mother of all music festivals. I was channeling my inner hippie, although I was only five at the time. I particularly enjoyed working on the eiderdown that was draped over the couple on the album cover.I originally planned to do the piece as a painting, but decided it might work well as a pencil drawing, as it could look more nostalgic in monochrome, but I may revisit the subject again at some point in the future and produce a gouache painting with a different composition, making full use of some flower power psychedelic colour!
