Seamus de Buitleir (Jim Butler) was born in Dublin and has recently moved to Cambridge to lecture in Illustration. He had previously lived in Manchester, where he lectured at Manchester Metropolitan University. Whether drawing directly on location using collage or developing abstract etchings and screenprints, his work is a constant exploration of the compositions and marks which can be found in the world around us. He has exhibited widely both nationally and internationally and further examples of his work can be found on his website.
