Christine has been painting for more than ten years. Although her early work was watercolour in the traditional manner she has always been keen to try new media. Her more recent studio work is largely in mixed media, based on a more abstract approach to the landscape, and incorporating collage and sometimes textiles. For some time she has been working in oil, enjoying painting alla prima in the landscapes and gardens of Southern England.
After twice successfully submitting work for the London exhibition of the SGFA she was recently elected as an Associate Member.
Christine is artist-in-residence at Tyrrell`s Wood Golf Club. She demonstrates mixed media painting to art societies and runs workshops for adults and children. She takes part in the Surrey Artists Open Studios event each year, and her work can be seen at group exhibitions across Surrey throughout the year. Her wok is represented in private collections in the UK as well as Europe, New Zealand, Australia and the US.
Most recently she has been taking part in the filming of a TV programme to be shown internationally this autumn. Contributors were taught the skills to produce a work in the style of a master by John Myatt, a notorious forger. Christine was challenged by the task of painting a Renoir nude, as different from her normal work as possible!
