Annual Open Exhibition Each year in October the Society exhibits outstanding drawings in both traditional and contemporary media by some of Britain's finest professional artists, members and non-members alike. Society members give free talks and demonstrations during the exhibition as part of the Big Draw; the annual festival when museums, galleries, libraries and schools across the UK help people of all ages to discover how drawing can connect them with their surroundings and the wider community.
Applications for the 2012 exhibition are now open. Submission information and an Entry From are available on the Future Exhibitions, Entry Forms page.
Regional Exhibitions Members living outside London organize regional SGFA exhibitions, most recently in Surrey, Dorset and Warwickshire. Exhibitions in Devon and Lancashire are in the pipeline.
Drawing Days The Society's Drawing Days provide a stimulus to drawing and give members an opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss their art practices. Drawing Days are open to members free of charge. They are organized four times per year at venues ranging from museums and public galleries to landscapes and cityscapes. On a typical day 10 to 12 participants draw in the morning and afternoon, meeting for lunch in between and reconvening over coffee and tea at the end of the day.
